🌕 Introduction
Welcome to The Wild Soul Year, a sacred and creative circle where young women gather each week to explore language, identity, and the living Earth through writing, storytelling, and feminine wisdom traditions.
This is more than a writing class—it’s a journey through story, spirit, and earth. Together, we will root into the rhythms of the moon, listen deeply to ancestral stories, and awaken our inner voices through journaling, myth-making, and seasonal reflection.
Drawing from powerful texts that honor both wild nature and the feminine soul—Braiding Sweetgrass, The 13 Original Clan Mothers, and Women Who Run with the Wolves—we will walk through a yearlong rite of passage that weaves together ecological wisdom, mythic storytelling, and personal expression.
Each session will include shared reading, reflective writing, circle dialogue, and sacred practices to support self-discovery, voice development, and spiritual connection.
By the end of the year, each girl will carry a handmade collection of her stories, drawings, and reflections—a personal myth, an earth-rooted memory bundle, a seed for the woman she is becoming.
📚 Core Texts
These living books will guide our journey and inspire our writing:
Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer (Young Readers Edition) – honoring plants, reciprocity, and eco-spiritual connection.
The 13 Original Clan Mothers by Jamie Sams – Indigenous moon teachings and the sacred feminine cycle of the year.
Women Who Run with the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés – deep stories of myth, psychology, and the wild feminine archetype.
✍️ Practices Throughout the Year
🌙 Moon Journals
Each participant will keep a moon journal to track feelings, dreams, cycles, and creative impulses. Prompts will be given weekly to explore your inner world in connection with the moon phases.
🌸 Seasonal Altars
We'll create small nature altars at home—reflecting the themes of the month—to honor the seasons, the elements, and our own inner changes.
🌀 Story Weaving Projects
Throughout the year, students will write their own mythic journey—whether in poetry, short story, song, or spoken word. These will draw from their personal experiences and the collective themes we explore.
🔥 Rites of Passage Circles
These will be sacred, supportive spaces to honor the thresholds of adolescence and womanhood.
