"Over the three weeks, I watched my almost 8 year old daughter rapidly change in her body awareness, body attunement and sense of self. Being awakened with reverence of a changing body at such a young age is indeed a gift. Not only has she begun to understand her body, self-nurturing and her environment differently, but she has matured in her ability to self express through her art work in a way that I did not expect. Furthermore, with the amount of journaling, craft work, etc. Her hand writing has massively improved over a matter of weeks. “The camp was very fun and calming. I met lots of new people even though I went with a friend. Roes Tent is a calming summer camp that allows you to connect with girls your age and to bond and form a sisterhood. I enjoyed the Rose Tent because it allowed me to just relax. I could be open and worry free. The director, Amber, does a great job at including everyone and makes the space so welcoming. She plans lots of fun activities, both calm and interactive ones. “I feel like Rose Tent was quite valuable for my 9 year old daughter. The content was lovely. They learned more about their bodies, their emotions and how manage them. The self discovery through coloring, making teas and talking was really nice for her. And, she formed bonds with the girls, as well as the adults, that she can count on and look to as she continues to mature.
I loved the mother’s gathering as well. Speaking about deeper topics and looking inward in a safe space and forming bonds with women that I can look to and count on is very important and I’m grateful for that every day.
Knowing my daughter & I have loving support when life’s issues arise is paramount. Raising her in a new paradigm isn’t always easy - I’m so grateful for the bonds.”
